(also known as Welcome Screen, Sign-in Screen). When you start your
Windows 10 computer and press any key or click mouse button to switch
from Lock Screen to Login Screen, Windows 10 applies a blur effect on Login Screen background wallpaper which fades or hides the background image and puts focus on the user account picture (avatar), username and password field.

Some people may like this new eye candy effect but many people don't like this effect and they want to restore the previous feature to show actual clear background image on Login Screen without any blur effect.
In older versions of Windows 10, Login Screen used to dim or darken the background image but newer versions of Windows 10 enable acrylic or translucent blur effect (part of new Fluent design) on Login Screen background image.
Fortunately Microsoft has provided ways to turn off or disable the blur or fade effect on Login Screen. If you also want to remove the blur effect from Login Screen in Windows 10, this tutorial will help you.
Following are some solutions to disable blurred background image and restore clear and visible background image on Login Screen in Windows 10:
Keep in mind if you follow this method, it'll disable and remove the blur and transparency effects from all elements in Windows 10 such as Login Screen, Start Menu, Taskbar, Action Center, Notification Area icons fly-outs, Settings, UWP apps, etc.
1. Open Settings app from Start Menu or by pressing WIN+I keys together.
2. Now go to "Personalization -> Colors" section.
PS: Alternatively, You can directly launch this page using "ms-settings:colors" command in RUN dialog box as mentioned here.
3. Now in right-side pane, look for "Transparency effects" option.
The toggle button given below "Transparency effects" option is set to ON by default which means the transparency and blur effects are enabled everywhere.
Set the toggle button to OFF and it'll immediately remove the blur effect from Login Screen background as well as other UI elements.
1. Press WIN+R keys together to launch RUN dialog box. Now type gpedit.msc and press Enter. It'll open Group Policy Editor.
2. Now go to:
That's it. It'll immediately disable blur effect on Login Screen.
PS: If you want to restore blur effect on Login Screen background image in future, set the option in Group Policy Editor to "Not Configured" again.
If you can't use or don't want to use Group Policy Editor, you can take help of Registry Editor for the same task. Just follow these simple steps:
1. Press WIN+R keys together to launch RUN dialog box. Now type regedit and press Enter. It'll open Registry Editor.
2. Now go to following key:
That's it. Close Registry Editor and check Login Screen and you'll get no blur effect on background image.
PS: In future if you want to restore blur effect on Login Screen, delete the DWORD created in above steps.

That's it. It'll immediately disable blur effect on Login Screen.
PS: If you want to restore blur effect on Login Screen background image in future, set the option in Group Policy Editor to "Not Configured" again.
If you are using Home edition of Windows 10, you'll not be able to run gpedit.msc command because this edition doesn't come with Group Policy Editor. But you can enable Group Policy Editor in this edition using3. Disable Blur Effect on Login Screen Using Registry Editor
If you can't use or don't want to use Group Policy Editor, you can take help of Registry Editor for the same task. Just follow these simple steps:
1. Press WIN+R keys together to launch RUN dialog box. Now type regedit and press Enter. It'll open Registry Editor.
2. Now go to following key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\System3. In right-side pane, right-click on empty area and select New -> DWORD (32-bit) Value option. Set the new DWORD name as DisableAcrylicBackgroundOnLogon and set its value to 1
That's it. Close Registry Editor and check Login Screen and you'll get no blur effect on background image.
PS: In future if you want to restore blur effect on Login Screen, delete the DWORD created in above steps.
