[Tip] Stop Windows 10 from Collecting Your Typing Insights Data

0

This tutorial will help you in disabling Typing Insights feature in Windows 10 as well as disabling autocorrection, text suggestions, SwiftKey keyboard, etc features.

Windows 10 comes with several features to assist users in typing using hardware keyboard as well as software keyboard (or touch keyboard). As soon as you start typing in web browsers, text editors, etc, Windows 10 starts showing text suggestions and highlighting/autocorrecting misspelled words. Apart from text suggestions and autocorrect feature, Windows 10 also provides other typing features such as automatically add space/period, capitalize first letter of sentences, swipe on touch keyboard to type, etc.

Windows 10 uses AI (Artificial Intelligence) to provide these typing assist features such as suggesting words, autocorrecting spelling mistakes, etc.
When Windows 10 helps users when they are typing, it also collects typing data in form of Typing Insights. Typing Insights data lets users know a report containing following:
  • Autocompleted words
  • Suggested words
  • Keystrokes saved
  • Spelling corrections
  • Swiped words
Many Windows 10 users may not like this behavior and may want to disable Typing Insights feature so that Windows 10 doesn't store all above mentioned data.

This tutorial will help you in preventing and restricting Windows 10 from storing Typing Insights data. Microsoft has provided a built-in option to turn off Typing Insights feature which can be used to stop Windows 10 from gathering users typing insights data.
